Here's another picture from Death Valley. It was supposedly one of the wettest springs in 100 years so there were a LOT of wildflowers in bloom (as you can see).

I found out a few months ago how professional photographers are able to get the photos of flowers where they are all bunched together. They use a Telephoto wide angle lens that allows you to see the mountains/sky, but because the lens is so long, it somehow "squishes" everything into the image. That is why with our 35 mm cameras, pictures of football players playing look like there are such huge gaps between the players, but with a long telephoto lens, they appear much closer together. Interesting, no?
